UNDERGRDUATE TEACHING

  • Concept of Community Oriented Medical Education was introduced by IPH in BMC in 1993. Later adopted by WHO for implementation in selected Medical Colleges in Pakistan.
  • Undergraduate MBBS Curriculum in Community Medicine has been revamped.
  • Students are now for the first time in the history of medical education in Balochistan being involved in health system research activities.
  • Field postings in BHUs are being done for a period of 2?3 weeks for every batch to give them exposure to the working environment at the primary of health care level, where more than 90% doctors after completing their education would be posted. {This function of the undergraduate side has suffered a lot due to the continuous irrational attitude of the Medical College Administration by hampering the provision of student transportation and other resources, and indulgence in negative student politics}.
  • New examination methodology introduced.
