It is a matter of pride for IPHQ publishing its Annual Report 2023 to review their performance and achievements. IPHQ-Balochistan over the years has successfully drawn attention to the healthcare needs and has been a powerful instrument for government and partners to recognize that provision of healthcare cannot be left to the professionals alone.

This year we have faced the tragedy that health facilities were overwhelmed by a new, highly infectious disease. COVID-I 9 Pandemic affecting all countries, even those having strong healthcare systems. Particularly the underdeveloped countries.

It is also a matter of pride for me that greater focus has been given to “Universal Health Coverage” in which main target is to deliver better primary healthcare to all communities, equity based.

Universal Health Coverage (UHC), means all people have access to the healthcare, without facing financial hardship. A strong foundation of primary health care, UHC, is one of PPHI-Baluchistan’s key priorities, we are working with government and other key actors to strengthen health systems. It also means spending better, protecting health workers and improving infrastructure for preventive, curative, care and rehabilitation close the community.

Accessible and quality healthcare is the foundation for UHC a reality and we need the help of individuals and communities which have access to high quality health services to take care of their families and the community at large.

Primary healthcare covers the majority of our basic needs throughout our life including services such as screening for health problems, vaccines and essential drugs. A health system with strong primary healthcare delivers better outcomes.

I would like to appreciate the district managers, healthcare staff and higher management of IPHQ-Balochistan for making it possible to provide health services, despite the pandemic. People’s dedication. Commitment and courage deserve our deepest gratitude and admiration. I would like to request our team members and the community to protect themselves from COVID-19 following the SOPs issued in this regard.
